Overview:
As the government payor for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, CMS has relaxed many of its reimbursement policies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Providers who are unfamiliar with the changes in scope of practice and other temporary changes may run afoul of coding compliance and find themselves in an enforcement audit.  This live webinar is designed to assist providers with the challenges presented by the ever-changing practice environment.

Target Audience:
Practicing physicians and physicians who supervise non-physicians who utilize billing codes submitted to, reviewed, and audited by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

Objectives:
Following the audience will be able to:

1) Identify temporary expansion of scope of practice and flexibilities afforded by CMS during COVID-19
public health emergency
2) Identify strategies for physicians to incorporate best coding practice into daily operating procedures
in order to optimize likelihood for successful submission of claims for reimbursement in compliance
with current coding guidelines while maintaining a focus on patient care
3) Understand the CMS audit process
4) Identify resources and mitigation strategies available to physicians to utilize in the event of an audit,
Including the different support services available from an attorney certified coding specialist and
consulting physician
